This one is called ‘Tales by the fireside’. In days gone by people gathered round the kitchen fire for warmth and companionship. When rakers (visitors) called the fire was the tea-making centre with the kettle hung over the fire. The craic was had in the glow of the firelight where stories were told, music was played and songs were sung. It’s oil and cold wax on board using a palette knife. I think we all look forward to having a ‘raker’ in our house again soon. Canvas size: 50cm x 60cm Professional handcrafted St. Ives frame in a soft white finish.
