Bríd Fanning – Irish Visual Artist

Bríd Fanning is a contemporary Irish visual artist from Oldcastle, County Meath, whose work delves into the essence of Irish identity. She creates original artworks in oils & cold wax and also works in acrylics too mostly using a palette knife. She also creates limited edition prints and unique lamps all made in Ireland.

Drawing inspiration from the people, animals, and landscapes of her homeland, she uses bold colour and texture to reconnect with and celebrate Ireland’s rich history and culture. “Whether it’s our people, animals, or our landscape, I like to express who we are through bold colour,” she says. Her art is a constantly evolving process, reflecting her passion for learning and refining her distinctive style.

In addition to her original artworks, Bríd merges her artistic vision with her expertise in graphic design to create unique art prints. With a professional background in Visual Communications, she spent years as a Graphic Design Consultant, following earlier roles as an in-house designer across various industries, including architecture, finance, online gaming, and animal nutrition. Bríd has also worked in marketing and advertising, both in Ireland and internationally, including the USA and Australia.

Her artistic development has been shaped by specialized courses at the National College of Art and Design, where she studied “Drawing and Contemporary Art Practice” and “Colour Theory.” She also honed her skills in “Illustration for Children’s Picture Books,” expanding her creative repertoire.

Bríd has gained recognition on both national and international stages. She was selected by Meath LEO to exhibit at SHOWCASE, Ireland’s largest retail trade show, in 2022 and 2023 and will return this year for the event’s 50th anniversary. She has exhibited at ART SOURCE in Dublin’s RDS, Ireland’s premier art fair, for three consecutive years. Her growing portfolio of collectors spans the USA, Canada, Australia, the UK, mainland Europe, and her home country of Ireland.

Bríd is proudly supported by the Meath Arts Office and Creative Ireland. In 2023, she was selected for the ACORNS programme, which supports female entrepreneurs, funded by the Department of Agriculture, Food & Marine. She has also completed the Growth Programme with the Design & Crafts Council of Ireland and is a founding member of Meath Made, the county’s first Creative Collective, supported by Meath County Council and Meath Local Enterprise Office. She was recently recognized as one of “female entrepreneurs to watch in 2025” by Think Business.
