The original is oils and cold wax on board with palette knife. This is first in my series of 'Old Ireland' featuring the Galway Shawl captured in an expressive way using bold colour.
I love looking at old black and white photographs and trying to re-imagine them through bold colour. I wanted to paint this one as I was curious about what the girls might be talking about it. It reminded me of when we meet up with our own friends/family and how precious that time is. It’s a fun and quirky piece.
I have decided to do a limited edition run of 25 only.
They are printed using archival quality paper.
Image size: 60cm x 36cm
There is also the option to request it at 75cm. Please contact me directly if you would like the bigger size.
The print will be posted in a sturdy tube. The frame is for illustrative purposes only.
