Here Come The Girls (Limited Edition Prints)
The original is oils and cold wax on board with palette knife. This is first in my series of 'Old Ireland' featuring the Galway Shawl captured in an expressive way using bold colour. Inspired by photograph of the Women of Carraroe, Co. Galway, part of the Days of the MV Naomh Éanna, personal collection.
I love looking at old black and white photographs and trying to re-imagine them through bold colour. I wanted to paint this one as I was curious about what the girls might be talking about it. It reminded me of when we meet up with our own friends/family and how precious that time is. It’s a fun and quirky piece.
They are printed using archival quality paper.
