This painting feels very close to home for me. I was raised on a small farm, surrounded by sheep and the everyday sights and sounds of rural Ireland. They were simply part of the landscape and part of our lives. I love bringing those memories into my work now, but with a little more colour and personality — a joyful nod to the place, the animals and the simple country life that shaped me.
